I used a Scout XL in the past and was quite happy with it until it died. I tried another brand of underwater camera but it proved very unsatisfactory, so I returned it and bought an Explorer 7.
No big change from the previous models, but a few refinements are much welcome, the lighting system on the side of the fish shaped camera, the ability to recharge the battery without fumbling with connectors, etc.
Overall, a very solid product, allowing to record videos in even rather murky environments, practical packaging details are well thought about, and this is the best product I know of on the market for such reasonable price range.
Now... When will we see a color model? Would be cool!

Altough there are a few items/characteristics i would change, overall i am very pleased with this product. I aqua vu cameras have come along way since their birth and this superior and economical model is the model is the result of the companies dedication to perfection. The only features i would change/add would be the dimmer function needs a little improvement and i would add a taller wider sunshield option, because the one offered now allows a good amount of sunshine in, but other than that this is my first aqua vu and i believe it has improved my bass fishing skills and fish locating techniques by half this since ive owned it which is for less than a year. i will be purchasing the next model the company comes out with and will continue to reccomend aqua vu to others.

great unit lot's of fun. the camera unit fish housing is to fragile especially with the vertical adapter attached. i carry the unit inside a tight fitting cooler with the camera snuggly wrapped in a towel and the tail still cracked off the housing. any suggestions on how to transport safely?

I REALLY WANT TO ABLE TO WRITE A REVIEW BUT YOUR OUT OF THESE CAMERAS NOT GOOD MUST HAVE HAD HIGH CHRISTMASDEMAND HUH VERY UNFORTUNATE PROBABLY LOSING OUT ON LOTS OF SALES IWOULD BUY AN EXPLORER 7 RIGHT NOW IF AVAILABLE
